About Me

My photo
I wanted to thank everyone who was interested in my house construction. Despite how much I hate blogs this would be the easiest way for me to share the progress. No talk about me standing in line at Target or other stuff no one cares about. Just construction, Good and bad.

DEMO day 2

Today was the second day of Demolition. Special thank you to Jodi and Lauren for seriously kicking ass today. Lauren is now a professional with a hammer drill. She was in that bathroom the entire day chipping away at the old thick set tile. Jodi is really good at smashing things with a hammer. She literally smashed it today. Thank you to Andy for taking me to Lowes with his truck today to pick up the lumber for framing tomorrow.

We got a lot done today. Lauren and Jodi were pro's. Most of the heavy demolition is finished. Here are some photos from the day.

I started with the bathroom using the hammer drill to get the tile off the wall. It was thick set tile with metal lath. Lauren quickly took over when she arrived.

Same with the floor. Thickset tile with metal lath.

Lauren got bored of the cabinets and wanted to use the hammer drill.

Jodi started to attack the trim. Literally.

Action shot.

Good bye linoleum

This is just the start of the pile. By the end of the day it doubled in size.

Down comes the wall between the kitchen and dining room.

Lauren still working on the floor.

I had to get the water out of the toilet somehow. Don't worry I had gloves on.

This is the second time I had to throw a toilet off my deck.

Counter top.

Erin got home from work and was part of the cleanup crew. We tried to sweep and vacuum all the dust. There was a lot of it.

Tomorrow should be the last of the demo. Another successful day.
