There was more drama with the delivery yesterday but the delivery guy was nice enough to put it all under my deck while I was at work. I couldn't sit at home and wait for them all day. Jason (to the rescue again) came without notice and moved it all inside for me.
I got home from happy hour last night and wanted to take a look at the tile. After all that delivery drama the last minute substitute tile did not come with the delivery! I was told it was in stock at the warehouse and it would be included. I'll have to have another talk with the bitchy tile guy again on Monday.
Today was day 1 of tile. Jason came over to help me and show me some pointers. Just when I thought I was done with plumbing... I spent most of the morning moving the shower head location. Jason pointed out all of the problems with the current shower head location... I knew all of this but just didnt want to move the head. Of course I ended up moving the head. While I was doing this started with the shower floor and setting the drain.
We did not get nearly as far as I had hoped. Some cement board is up in the bathroom. The sloped sand mix and drain is set for the shower.
We did get all of the Ditra mat down. This took most of the day. I'm using the Ditra mat because the existing floor slab under it is cracked and sloped in a few places. This will prevent cracks from telegraphing up through the tile.
Here are some shots from today.
First I chalked out the shower curb.
This is where I had the shower head...
Here is where I moved the shower head to.
I dry fit the tiles first to figure out where I should start. Lets see how it works out when I actually go to set the tiles.

More pressing
Lots of Ditra mat... no tile yet.

Today was the first day since I moved into this house that I did a load of laundry with the washer and dryer next to eachother. I forgot how nice that was... I quickly did two loads becaues as you can see in this photo they are gone. I had to unhook the washer, dryer and laundry sink. Who knows how long this tile will take me before I can get the washer and dryer back.
